A Message from Sean
“I feel honored to have the opportunity to come back to Byron to raise awareness about a disease that has affected so many. I think we all have been affected in one way or another by this disease and it is important that we do all that we can to find a cure. This event is a step in the right direction and thanks to organizations like the American Cancer Society, I believe that our efforts will make a real difference. Not only is it important to strive for a cure but it is equally important to remember those who have battled this terrible disease. My classmate and friend, Amber Huber, lost her battle with lymphoma cancer in September of 2003. Keeping Amber's memory and spirit alive through the Amber Huber Memorial Scholarship Fund at the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois along with raising money for the American Cancer Society makes this golf outing something special. In addition to these two important causes, a portion of the proceeds from this event will go to the Sean Considine Foundation, also at the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois. I established this foundation to more effectively respond to the various charitable organizations requesting my support each year. It will be a great day at PrairieView and Silver Ridge on June 29th and I believe that everyone that takes part will truly feel like they took part in an enjoyable and worthwhile event!” -- Sean Considine -- BHS Graduate, University of Iowa Alumnus, Current Jacksonville Jaguar
